Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra to Perform Free Concert at Terminal B | Tickets now available online for Aug. 2 performance

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra will be joined by award-winning vocalists Tony DeSare and Capathia Jenkins for a special event at the Outer Harbor’s Terminal B on Saturday, Aug. 2 at 7 p.m. Free general admission tickets for the “BPO with Frank and the Great Ladies of Song” can be redeemed online at buffalowaterfront.com/events/bpofrank. The free concert is presented by Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation (ECHDC) and Rich Entertainment Group.

The show is described as “Broadway brass meets old-school class,” with a fresh take on songbook classics. Featured songs include “This Could Be the Start of Something Big,” “Love Is Here to Stay,” “Come Fly With Me,” “Hallelujah I Love Him So,” “Night and Day,” “A-Tisket, A-Tasket,” “New York, New York” and more.

“When the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra joined us last year at Terminal B, we created some of the most memorable experiences of the summer,” said ECHDC Board Chair Joan Kesner. “We are thrilled to welcome the philharmonic back this summer for a free event. Governor Hochul has created a spectacular lake side concert venue that allows attendees to experience the transformative power of live music. We encourage everyone to come see one of our summer concerts in this unique and beautiful setting.”

Tony DeSare has garnered acclaim for his concert performances throughout North America and abroad. From jazz clubs to Carnegie Hall to Las Vegas, DeSare has brought his fresh take on old-school class around the globe.

Capathia Jenkins has starred in Broadway shows like “Newsies” and “The Look of Love.” An active concert artist, she has appeared with numerous orchestras around the world, including the Houston Symphony, San Francisco Symphony, Toronto Symphony, the Hong Kong Philharmonic and many others.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Buffalo Waterfront and bring the BPO back to Terminal B this summer,” said Dan Hart, BPO Executive Director. “Tony DeSare and Capathia Jenkins are electric onstage, and we can’t wait to bring their incredible talent and the full sound of the BPO to a night under the stars.”

Lauren Ford, general manager for Buffalo Waterfront, said the BPO concert presents an opportunity to open access to this unique waterfront venue for everyone.

“If you haven’t yet had a chance to experience a concert at Terminal B, this special event provides a great opportunity to enjoy incredible music in a picturesque setting,” she said.
