High school sports roundup (April 29)

Here’s a roundup of high school varsity action on Tuesday, April 29.

Boys lacrosse

Loyola Blakefield 10, McDonogh 9, OT: Cooper Pasko scored the game-winner to lift the host Dons (10-5, 5-3 Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference) over the Eagles (9-5, 6-2) in overtime. McDonogh had the tying goal with less than a minute left in regulation to force overtime. The Eagles broke a 4-4 tie with a 4-2 run in the second quarter. Loyola tied the score at 8-8 in the third and took a 9-8 lead with eight minutes left in the fourth quarter. The Dons got two goals each from Pasko, Luca Ball and James Albanesi.

Boys’ Latin 13, St. Mary’s 5: The host Lakers (10-4, 6-2 MIAA A Conference) opened with a 6-0 run and beat the Saints (5-10, 2-7). Boys’ Latin was led by T.J. Shaw (4 goals), Lincoln Herring (3 goals) and Matthew Higgins (2 goals).

Annapolis Area Christian 17, Mount Carmel 3: The visiting Eagles (10-1, 7-0 MIAA C Conference) took a 7-2 lead in the first half and rolled past the Cougars (1-8, 1-5). AACS was led by John Dixon (7 goals), Maks Taishoff (4 goals) and Will VanVeelen with eight assists.

Towson 7, C. Milton Wright 6: Blake Katz scored the game-winner to lift the host Generals over the Mustangs. Towson was led by Alex Tyler (3 goals, 1 assist), Max Kosmides (2 goals) and Hudson Arrup (1 goal, 2 assists).

Girls lacrosse

Fellowship of Christian Athletes 23, Solanco (Pa.) 10: Maddie Krafchik had five goals and an assist to lead the host Falcons over the Golden Mules. Other standouts for FCA included: Lauren Mumaw (4 goals), Abby Slawinski (3 goals, 4 assists), Lorien Henkel (3 goals, 2 assists) and Ella Burton (3 goals, 1 assist). Ashley Welch scored a game-high seven goals for Solanco.

Baseball

Patterson Mill 13, Bel Air 4: The visiting Huskies led 6-0 after two innings and beat the Bobcats. Noah Thomas worked three innings, gave up one hit and struck out three for the win. Patterson Mill got two hits each from Logan Scheeler, Tre McInnes and Mason Hemelt.

North Harford 13, Havre de Grace 11: The visiting Hawks held off a late rally by the Warriors to win. Havre de Grace put together a four-run rally in the seventh inning that fell short. Sean Ellis worked seven innings, gave up three runs on seven hits, walked one and struck out 10 for the win.

Softball

Perry Hall 8, Catonsville 3: The host Gators scored four runs in the third inning and beat the Comets. Savannah Carl went 4-for-4 with three runs scored for Perry Hall. Kaia Gross (2-for-4) had a double, two RBIs and a run scored for Catonsville.

Fallston 5, Dulaney 0: Abby Marmen (1-for-2) had a home run and two RBIs to lead the host Cougars over the Lions. Ally Underwood worked seven innings, gave up four hits and struck out four for the win.
