Former Alabama A&M wide receiver Dee Anderson has changed teams in a United Football League trade. The Memphis Showboats have sent Anderson to the San Antonio Brahmas for cornerback Darius Phillips.
Anderson has 15 receptions for 182 yards and one touchdown in five games this season with the Showboats. In Memphis’ past two games, Anderson has nine receptions for 140 yards and one touchdown – a 78-yard score in a 24-20 overtime victory against the Birmingham Stallions on April 25. Anderson caught the 2-point pass in overtime that clinched the Showboats’ only victory of the season.
But Anderson isn’t moving up in the UFL standings via the trade. San Antonio also has a 1-5 record in 2025.
The Brahmas play the DC Defenders at 7 p.m. CDT Friday.
Anderson tied for the SWAC lead with 12 touchdown receptions in 2021. He caught 33 passes for 493 yards in 2021, his only season at Alabama A&M after transferring from Oklahoma State. Anderson played for the Cowboys in 2020 after playing at LSU in 2016 through 2018.
Anderson began his spring-football career when he joined the Tampa Bay Bandits during the 2022 USFL season.
In 2023, Anderson caught 13 passes for 174 yards and two touchdowns in seven games with the USFL’s New Orleans Breakers.
In 2024, Anderson had eight receptions for 142 yards and one touchdown in six games with the Showboats in the UFL’s first season.
