EAST AURORA CHAMBER MUSIC FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES ITS INAUGURAL SEASON

The East Aurora Chamber Music Festival, will celebrate its inaugural season with a series of four concerts, scheduled at East Aurora’s historic St.Matthias’ Episcopal Church at the corner of Main and Maple Streets in East Aurora. All concerts will begin at 7:30 PM and will run without intermission. This year’s program will feature a variety of both new and familiar “Classical Top 40” works.

Opening night, Friday June 6 th , the concert entitled “Short Stories” will begin with Mozart’s “Ganz Kleine Nachtmusik,” KV. 648, “along with Arnold Bax’s “Oboe Quintet,” and finishing with Ravel’s “Mother Goose Suite.” The second concert, performed on Sunday, June 8 th entitled “Highs and Lows,” will include 3 pieces: Rossini’s “Sonata for Strings No. 3 in C Major,” Jean Cras’ “Suite en Duo for Flute and Harp,” and Arensky’s ”String Quartet in A minor, Op. 35.”

The third concert, June 13 th , entitled “Vive La France,” will include Faure’s Piano Quartet No. 2, op. 45 in G minor and Saint-Saens’ Septet Op. 65 for Trumpet, Piano and Strings.. The final concert on June 14 th , will be totally devoted to the music of Johann Sebastian Bach, and will feature Brandenburg No. 6, BWV 1051, concerto for Two Violins BWV 1043 and his Keyboard Concerto in F minor BWV 1056.

Tickets for all concerts are available at Tops, Elm Street Bakery, The Roycroft Inn, and The Power House on the Roycroft Campus. Tickets are $15.00 in advance and $20.00 at the door. All concerts will begin at 7:30 and will run without intermission. Prior to the start of each formal concert, local high school chamber musicians will perform. These groups will have been mentored by professional East Aurora Chamber Music Festival musicians in preparation for these concerts.
