Reba McEntire took to social media to mourn the loss of his stepson, Brandon Blackstock.
Blackstock, Kelly Clarkson’s ex-husband, died earlier this month of melanoma, a form of skin cancer. Natural causes were cited as the manner of death.
“Last week, my stepson/oldest son Brandon Blackstock went home to be with God,” she posted on X. “His struggle is over and he is in eternal peace in God’s presence. There is no one else like him, and I’m thankful for the time we had together.
“His legacy and laughter will be carried on through his family. Rest in peace cowboy. Happy trails to you til we meet again.”
Clarkson postponed her Las Vegas residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace earlier this month with news of Blackstock’s illness, noting she needed to be present for their two children, daughter River Rose and son Remington Alexander.
“I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows, and I so appreciate your grace, kindness, and understanding,” Clarkson said.
