Ex-NFL QB is joining ESPN after losing job

Chase Daniel has a new gig after losing his old one.

The former NFL quarterback is joining ESPN after FS1’s ‘The Facility’ was canceled, causing him to lose his previous job.

Front Office Sports first reported that Daniel will debut as a college analyst in Week 1 for Duquesne-Pittsburgh alongside veteran announcer Clay Matvick. Awful Announcing confirmed the news and further reported that Daniel will also have an expanded role on NFL games.

Earlier this week, Daniel, who played in the NFL from 2009-22, had a strong take on Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart.

“Jaxson Dart [is] clearly very comfortable in Brian Daboll’s up tempo offense,” Daniel wrote on Threads. “I don’t know how you can leave him on the bench for long at all.”

He followed up later in the day: “For the people that are saying he needs to sit for the whole year…the absolute best way to develop is to play real football games,” Daniel wrote on Threads.
