Rosalind Williams Whalon
KENNEBUNKPORT – Rosalind Williams Whalon died on Dec. 10, 2025, at her home in Kennebunkport. Born in Englewood, NJ to Elizabeth P. and Paul B. Williams, she grew up in nearby Leonia, NJ where she graduated from Leonia High School. She participated in cheerleading, student council, and girls’ basketball. She was an active member of the Leonia Presbyterian Church.
Following graduation from Tufts University, where she met her future husband, Rosalind was an administrative assistant at Rockefeller University in New York City. In 1962, she and Peter G. Whalon were married. That was the start of a journey that took them to Des Plains, Ill., Cheshire, Conn., Waterville, Maine, Boxford, Mass., Saratoga, Calif., Valley Forge, Pa., and Kennebunkport, Maine.
She volunteered for numerous organizations and schools including Project Hope in Chicago, Thayer Hospital and the New England Home for Little Wanderers in Waterville, the Paoli, Pennsylvania Presbyterian Church Board of Trustees, the Kennebunkport Historical Society, and the South Congregational Church Women’s Association. For more than 60 years she was a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. She served as an officer in six different chapters and served respectively on the Connecticut State Board and the Pennsylvania State Board, including as it’s President from 1990 to 1991. She felt fortunate to have travelled through more than 25 countries and particularly enjoyed years of family skiing in Vermont and Maine.
She is survived by her son Paul and his wife Bethany.
No visiting hours are scheduled. There will be no funeral. The burial will be private.
