A 19-year-old from Aiea fatally shot Thursday night has been identified as Aron Lucky by the city Department of the Medical Examiner.
Lucky died after he was shot multiple times in Salt Lake by gunmen who remain on the run from police. The cause of death was “multiple blunt force injuries,” and the manner of death was a homicide, according to the medical examiner.
Honolulu Police Department officers responded to a report of gunfire at about 11:30 p.m. Thursday near Salt Lake Boulevard and Kamehameha Highway.
Honolulu Emergency Medical Services officials said paramedics responded to a Kohomua Street address and treated Lucky for gunshot wounds. Lucky was taken to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Police are looking for three suspects, all wearing black clothing and black face coverings, who were seen exiting a light-colored, four-door vehicle on Salt Lake Boulevard and Kamehameha Highway when one of them shot the victim multiple times as the 19-year-old was running into the housing complex.
One suspect was carrying a handgun, a second suspect had a long gun and a third suspect also had a handgun. They fled on Salt Lake Boulevard toward the Stadium after the shooting, police said.
