A crash on Vail Pass closed westbound Interstate 70 on Thursday morning as a snowstorm hit Colorado’s mountain corridor.
Westbound I-70 closed near the summit of Vail Pass, or exit 190 near Copper Mountain, at 10:50 a.m., according to a travel alert from the Colorado Department of Transportation.
A traffic camera just east of the summit showed both lanes of traffic at a standstill at 11:25 a.m.
Up to 9 inches of snow is expected to fall in the Colorado high country throughout the day Thursday and into Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
This is a developing story.
