Little Rock Weekend Guide: Jan. 22-25

Whether or not any of these events actually happen is anybody’s guess, so take this list with a grain of (road) salt. Just be sure to double check for cancellations before you head out and always play it safe on questionable roads. Let’s get into it.

 

Thursday, Jan. 22

“Stand by Me” at Ron Robinson Theater // Somehow this classic coming-of-age movie is turning 40 this year, so there’s no better time to revisit it on the big screen. Directed by Rob Reiner and based on a Stephen King story, the heartfelt flick was responsible for launching the careers of several Hollywood stars. Showtime is 7 p.m. Learn more here.

“Rebirth and Revolution” at the Robinson Center // Next up in the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra’s Masterworks Series (and first up for 2026) is this show featuring the talents of violinist Alexander Kerr and the music of Sergei Prokofiev and Dmitri Shostakovich. Due to inclement weather, this concert will now take place on Thursday night only. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. Learn more here.

Bring the kids: ASO Announces New Family Concert Series

Bette Smith at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts // And next up in the AMFA concert series is this dynamite singer known for her unique fusion of soul, funk, blues, gospel and rock and roll. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. Learn more here.

 

Thursday – Sunday, Jan. 22-25

“Mean Girls” at Wildwood Park for the Arts // Get in loser, we’re going to the theater. In its latest production, Stage 13 is headed to the jungles of high school hierarchy. The sass, the pink and all the wicked humor you know and love are taking the WLR stage in this musical adaptation of the iconic 2004 movie. Learn more here.

Friday, Jan. 23

Pajama Yoga at Pettaway Commons // Things are getting real comfy in this LR neighborhood. This calming, all-levels restorative yoga session is all about letting go of tension and embracing deep relaxation. The flow starts at 7 p.m. Learn more here.

Saturday, Jan. 24

The Harlem Globetrotters at Simmons Bank Arena // Whether you’ve got kids to entertain or not, the Globetrotters still put on quite the show. The world-famous team is on its centennial anniversary tour with non-stop fun and lots of opportunities to interact with the players. Bring the kids. Or don’t. Tipoff is at 3 p.m. Learn more here.

Ghost Hunting Class at the Old State House Museum // If you’re a spooky-season-year-round person, this one’s for you. Join local paranormal investigators Rhonda Burton and Linda Howell to learn a thing or two about investigation techniques while supporting the Arkansas State House Society.
