A winter storm over the weekend has led to some schools and facilities announcing closures and schedule delays.
Chesapeake
City offices and facilities are opening at 10 a.m. Employees with questions about their specific reporting time should contact their supervisor.
Chesapeake Public Schools are operating on a two-hour delay Monday.
Franklin City
Franklin City Public Schools are closed Monday.
Hampton
The Fort Monroe Visitor Center and Casemate Museum are closed and normal operating schedule will resume Wednesday.
Hampton City Public Schools will have a remote workday Monday for staff and a day off for students. All sports practices, games and other activities scheduled for Monday are canceled.
The city of Hampton’s offices, libraries, community centers and other public facilities will open at 10 a.m. Monday. Permanent full-time, permanent part-time and when actually employeed employees will have the option to take liberal leave starting at 10 a.m. Monday. If employees do not have sufficient paid time off, the time off will be unpaid or they can seek approval from their supervisory team to make up the hours during the work week.
Hampton Roads Transit
HRT will be on a modified snow route schedule with limited service Monday. Hourly bus service will be provided on designated routes from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Tide light rail and Elizabeth River Ferry will operate every 30 minutes from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Paratransit service, OnDemand Ridesharing and Base Express won’t operate. Customers should expect delays.

Isle of Wight County
Isle of Wight County Schools are closed Monday for all staff and students.
James City County
Teens on Target and Exceptional Expeditions scheduled for Monday, are canceled. The 250th Pottery Program will be postponed to Feb. 6 and 7.
New Kent County
New Kent County Public School buildings will be closed on Monday, meaning it will be an asynchronous learning day. All after-school activities, athletic events and extracurricular programs are canceled.
Newport News
Christopher Newport University is operating fully remote Monday. Regattas will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. All other dining locations will be closed. The Trible Library will be open on a 24/7 swipe basis. The Trieshmann Fitness Pavilion will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Ferguson and Torggler centers will be closed.
Four Oaks Day Service will stay open as a shelter for women, families with children and transgender people experiencing homelessness. The center will provide overnight shelter until 5:30 a.m. Monday. Then it will return to normal operating hours.
PORT Winter Shelter, at All Generations Church, operated by LINK of Hampton Roads will operate through 6 a.m. Monday as a male shelter for homelessness. Normal operations will return Monday.
Denbigh Community Center, Brittingham-Midtown Community Center, and Downing-Gross Cultural Center will operate as warming centers Monday through Thursday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Libraries will be open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday.
Parks and recreation facilities will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday. Childcare will continue its regular hours, opening at 6 a.m.
Peninsula Regional Animal Shelter Adoption and Reunite Centers will operate from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday.
The Recovery Operations Center will be open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday. Mulch and compost sales will resume Tuesday. The trash and recycling collections will resume when it can safely be picked up.
Newport News Public Schools have Monday and Tuesday as scheduled days off for students.
Norfolk
Tidewater Community College will provide all instruction remotely on Monday.
Norfolk Public Schools and administrative offices will have a two-hour delay Monday. Only essential personnel should report in person.
Portsmouth
Portsmouth Public Schools are operating on a two-hour delay Monday.
Poquoson
Poquoson City Public Schools have a virtual school day Monday.
Suffolk
Suffolk city facilities will return to regular hours Monday.
Suffolk Public Schools will operate on a two-hour delay Monday.
Virginia Beach
Students have Monday and Tuesday off in Virginia Beach City Public Schools and both days will remain staff workdays.
Williamsburg
Colonial Williamsburg is closed Monday. Essential personnel report as scheduled.
Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools are closed Monday. This was a planned student holiday and remains the same. Students will not engage in remote learning.
York County
Only essential personnel will report in person to work Monday at York County School Division. All after-school activities, field trips and events will be canceled.
Yorktown
The Jamestown Settlement and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown will be closed Monday.
