Oahu residents asked to conserve water during severe weather

HONOLULU BOARD OF WATER SUPPLY

The Honolulu Board of Water Supply this morning is once again asking all Oahu customers to conserve water due to current and potential power outages related to severe weather conditions islandwide.

The request, which was also issued via HNL Alert on Sunday morning, is in place until further notice.

BWS said the outages may affect BWS facilities and its ability to pump and distribute water across the island.

“Customers are asked to conserve water and limit use to essential needs such as cooking, drinking, and personal hygiene,” said BWS in the alert. “Please postpone non-essential uses, including car washing, irrigation, and other outdoor water use, until further notice.”

To sign up for HNL Alert, the official notification system for the City and County of Honolulu, visit hnlalert.gov or text HNLALERT to 888777.
