After nine years in Hamilton Hills, a British tea parlor will soon move down the road to a new neighborhood.
Emma Canoles, owner of Emma’s Tea Spot at 5500 Harford Rd., announced in a Friday Instagram post that the business aims to move to 4337 Harford Rd., a property bordering Beverly Hills and Lauraville, this spring. The post cites the sale of the 5500 Harford Rd. building as the catalyst of the move.
“The shop at 5500 has been our home for eight incredible years, and we’ve loved every second of being part of this community,” the post reads. “Recently, the building sold, and that chapter has gently closed.”
In the post, Canoles wrote that the moving process will begin “once permits and a clear timeline are secured.” Canoles did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
“Thank you for growing with us,” the post reads.” We can’t wait to welcome you into the next chapter.”
Emma’s Tea Spot has specialized in fresh-brewed teas, pastries, finger sandwiches and a plethora of British imports since 2017. In October of 2024, Canoles published a crowdfunding campaign on GoFundMe to combat rising costs for the business. The campaign has raised more than $14,000 out of its $20,000 goal.
