A Carrabassett Valley man is accused of fatally shooting a woman from Connecticut at a home on Left Bank, according to state police.
Maine State Police say 24-year-old Austin Doucette was arrested and charged with the murder of 23-year-old Makayla Rose Desantis, who is from Colchester, Connecticut.
The shooting was reported around 7:30 p.m. Sunday near the Left Bank condominum complex.
Police say Desantis died at Maine Medical Center in Portland, where she was taken after being initially treated at MaineHealth Franklin Hospital in Farmington.
Doucette was arrested and charged with murder Monday evening, according to Maine State Police who say the investigation is ongoing.
