For those looking to hear Irish music this March, the Opera House in Boothbay Harbor has two acclaimed Irish bands this spring. Dervish’s global appeal is evident in the group’s extensive touring history, including performances at major festivals including Rock in Rio — where they played to an audience of 250,000 — and Glastonbury. The band has also served as cultural ambassadors, accompanying Irish leaders on state visits and even performing an impromptu session on the Great Wall of China. They have 13 critically acclaimed albums and have collaborated with artists including Steve Earle, Rhiannon Giddens and Vince Gill.
