Billy Idol spans the classics in his Las Vegas residencies. He also spans the venues.
Idol will premiere at BleauLive Theater at the Fontainebleau on Aug 28 and 29 and Sept. 2, 4 and 5, promoter Live Nation Las Vegas announced Tuesday (ticket info at Ticketmaster.com). The shows will feature longtime Idol guitar sidekick Steve Stevens, a Las Vegas resident.
Idol is the lone major headliner to front residency productions at four Las Vegas theaters. He rocked The Pearl at the Palms (most recently in 2019) and the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay (2016-’17) and the Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan (2021-’23).
Idol also played an invite-only show at Hoover Dam in April 2023 for a music video promoting water-conservation efforts.
Keith Urban is the only other major star to approach this type of range in Vegas, headlining Caesars Palace’s Colosseum, Zappos Theater (PH Live today) at Planet Hollywood and BleauLive Theater.
Idol has played his classics in previous Vegas shows, including “Dancing With Myself,” “Flesh for Fantasy,” “Eyes Without a Face,” “Rebel Yell” and “White Wedding,” often opening with “Viva Las Vegas.” His shows also reached to his punk roots with Generation X.
