Tone Lōc to play no-cover show on Las Vegas Strip

The Barbershop Cuts & Cocktails is about to get funky, and cold, and let’s not forget Medina.

Rap pioneer and ear-worm architect Tone Lōc is joining The Cosmopolitan’s grooming/grooving hot spot for its “Back to the 80s” party on Thursday night.

The artist born Anthony Terrell Smith is celebrating his 60th birthday (which was March 3), hosting the shindig with house band Neon Knights playing a full set.

Lōc is set to perform “Wild Thing” and the above-referenced “Funky Cold Medina.” The recording star is in town for a private show.

Doors on Thursday are at 8 p.m., with a DJ opening with ’80s hits, followed by Neon Knights’ flash-glam, hair-metal, synth-pop stylings.

Lōc ascended to international fame at the tail end of the ’80s, with his debut album, “Lōc-ed After Dark.” His lead single, “Wild Thing,” blew up on MTV, which was a cable outlet that played music videos and artist interviews around the clock, kids.

Guests are encouraged to wear era-appropriate attire. Search Neon Knights to sort out fashion do’s and don’t’s. There is no cover, but reservations are strongly recommended. Go to thebarbershoplv.com for intel.
