Hawaii junior outside hitter Louis Sakanoko put down a team-high 15 kills with one error in 21 swings to lead the second-ranked Rainbow Warriors to a 25-18, 25-22, 25-20 sweep of No. 3 Long Beach State tonight at LBS Financial Credit Union Pyramid in Long Beach, Calif.
Kristian Titriyski added 11 kills with only three errors for Hawaii (19-3, 2-0 Big West), which defeated the defending national champion Beach (14-4, 0-2) for the second straight night.
Hawaii hit .437 as a team with only 10 hitting errors.
Long Beach State, which leads the country in aces per set, was held to only three. The Beach, who are also second in the nation in blocks, managed seven for the entire match.
Hawaii had 8.5 blocks, led by middle blocker Justin Todd, who was in on four of them and also had four kills in four swings.
Setter Tread Rosenthal ended the night with a match-high 33 assists, six digs, three kills and two blocks.
