328 Thai restaurant opens, replacing Weera Thai Street Food

A new restaurant, 328 Thai, recently opened at 328 W. Sahara Ave. If Thai food at this address sounds familiar, that’s because it is. Weera Thai Street Food opened in the space in June; in January, that concept closed, now replaced by 328 Thai.

Weera Thai Group, which owns four other Weera Thai restaurants in Las Vegas, also owned Weera Thai Street Food and now owns the new spot.

”Our vision for 328 Thai is to create more than just a meal — it’s an experience,” Sasi Phothidokmai, owner-founder of Weera Thai Group, said in a recent announcement. “Every dish represents a piece of our journey, honoring where we come from while embracing innovation and creativity.”

On the menu

The announcement describes 328 as elevating the warmth of Thai home cooking and traditional recipes with modern techniques and presentation. Three of the signature dishes at 328:

— Yum som-o pomelo salad features pomelo segments, house chili jam blended with toasted coconut, lime juice, Thai fish sauce and crushed cashews. The vibrant salad delivers a classic Thai balance of sweet, sour, salty and heat, plus some light textural crunch.

— Lon pu coconut crab dip supplies a refined spin on a Thai comfort classic, with a coconut base, fresh crab and aromatic herbs. Seasonal vegetables for dredging accompany the warm, creamy dip with a jot of subtle sweetness.

— Rawaeng curry, an unusual Thai regional curry, showcases meat slow-cooked in roasted spices and fresh herbs, producing an aromatic, slightly spicy dish known for its depth and complexity.

Through Wednesday, 328 Thai is offering a preview of its menu from 6 to 8 p.m. nightly; make reservations at 328thai.com or by calling 702-462-9828. The grand opening takes place Saturday with regular 4 to 10 p.m. hours.
