COLLEGE MEN’S BASKETBALL
William & Mary coach Brian Earl announced the addition of three players: 6-foot-5 guard Reese Miller (from Round Rock, Texas, and Blinn Community College), 6-4 guard Ethan Connery (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and Casper College) and 6-6 forward Jo’el Emanuel (Suffern, New York, and Fairleigh Dickinson).
Connery (12.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.9 steals per game last season) and Miller were all-region third- and second-team selections, respectively. Emanuel, a double-digit-average scorer the past two seasons, graduated from FDU in three years and will be a graduate student in business.
Report: ODU gains Georgetown transfer
Old Dominion landed Georgetown transfer Drew McKenna, according to MADE Scouting, citing a statement from his father.
McKenna, a 6-foot-8, 220-pound forward from Laurel, Maryland, averaged 1.8 points, 1.7 rebounds and 7.4 points per game in his recently concluded freshman season with the Hoyas. He shot 35.9% from the field.

Richardson returning to Norfolk State
Anjanae Richardson, a key supporting piece in Norfolk State’s Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference regular-season and tournament championships, revealed by social media that she will return to the Spartans next season.
Larry Vickers, who recruited Richardson to NSU and coached her, took the head coaching job at Auburn. Jermaine Woods, who grew up in Norfolk and had been coaching Coppin State, replaced him with the Spartans.
The 5-foot-8 guard from Portsmouth’s Manor High averaged 9.7 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.4 steals last season after averaging 7.1 points, 1.4 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.1 steals as a freshman, when she was a MEAC All-Rookie selection.

Tribe’s Laskofski named Rookie of Week
William & Mary freshman infielder Jamie Laskofski, from Burke in Northern Virginia, was named the Coastal Athletic Association Rookie of the Week. He batted .412 (7 of 17) with four doubles, a homer, four runs and five RBIs in the Tribe’s 2-2 week, which included a series victory over Campbell.

W&M women seeded second in CAA
The three-time defending champion William & Mary women received the No. 2 seed for the six-team Coastal Athletic Association championship tournament on the courts at Elon, the No. 1 seed. The Phoenix edged the Tribe 4-3 last weekend.
W&M has won 29 of the 39 all-time CAA championships. The Tribe will play at 10 a.m. Saturday against the winner of Friday’s match between No. 3 seed Delaware and No. 6 Campbell. The title match is set for 10 a.m. Sunday, with the winner gaining an automatic bid to the 64-team NCAA tourney.
W&M did not qualify for the six-team men’s tournament, also at Elon, where reigning champ UNC Wilmington is seeded No. 1.

Kellam grad gains USA South award
Meredith freshman Carson Griffith was named the USA South Rookie of the Week in softball. Griffith, who played for Kellam High, went a combined 4 for 7 (.571) with a 1.000 slugging percentage. She also scored two runs and had an RBI against Southern Virginia.

Tribe sixth entering CAA’s final round
William & Mary held sixth place after two rounds of the Coastal Athletic Association championship tourney at Union League National GC in Cape May Court House, New Jersey, with the final round set for 8 a.m. Tuesday.
Logan Hunter and Preston Burton were leading the Tribe at 5-over 149, tied for 12th place. Camden Goldknopf was at 151, sharing 18th place.
W&M shot a first-round 304 and a second-round 299 for a 603 total, 27 over par.
Henric Bjelke of Campbell held the individual lead by seven strokes at 9-under 135. His team was at 583, one shot ahead of Drexel and three over Elon.
