Brooks Permissions, the Poetry Foundation, and the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts at The University of Chicago invite you to join us on Monday, April 28th at 6 pm to a multidisciplinary celebration of the 75th anniversary of Gwendolyn Brooks’ Pulitzer Prize-winning Annie Allen.

Gwendolyn Brooks was the first Black person to win a Pulitzer Prize. Celebrate the 75th anniversary of Gwendolyn Brooks’ Pulitzer Prize-winning Annie Allen with an evening of multidisciplinary art and performances! Poets avery r. young, Angela Jackson, Patricia Smith and Adrian Matejka will be joined by musicians, dancers and visual artists. Artists will perform their unique interpretations on the content and themes of Annie Allen.

Admission is free, RSVP Encouraged.

This event is presented in partnership with the Bronzeville Historical Society and supported by the Poetry Foundation and the Logan Center’s Chill Endowment.
