Nafziger’s shutout leads Toms River East past Brick Twp in OCT quarterfinals – Baseball

Dan Nafziger threw a complete game shutout with five hits, eight strikeouts and no walks to lead third-seeded Toms River East to a 7-0 win over sixth-seeded Brick Township in the quarterfinals of the Ocean County Tournament, in Toms River.

The Raiders (10-4) will face either seventh-seeded Toms River South or second-seeded Point Pleasant Beach in the semis on Saturday.

Matthew Ferrara drove in two runs for TRE while Lucas Melton went 2-for-2 with one RBI.

The Dragons fell to 8-4 on the season.
