The Monmouth County Clerk’s Office is inviting couples to participate in a group wedding event on June 26 at the Hominy Hill Clubhouse in Colts Neck.
Monmouth County Clerk Christine Giordano Hanlon will officiate the ceremony, which requires advanced registration as space is limited.
The event will only include the wedding ceremony itself, with no reception. Couples are allowed to take photos on-site after the ceremony.
Each couple can invite a maximum of four guests to attend in person, but the event will also be live-streamed for additional guests to view online.
Couples are responsible for obtaining their marriage license in advance of the ceremony.
To apply for a New Jersey marriage license, couples must make an appointment with the Registrar of Vital Statistics in the municipality where either spouse resides, or if neither are New Jersey residents, in the municipality where the wedding will take place.
The license will not be issued until at least three days after the application is submitted, and is then valid for 30 days.
On the wedding day, the couple must appear with two witnesses, all bringing identification. The license cannot be amended once the witness information is added, so any changes would require the license to be reissued and the wedding rescheduled.
The Monmouth County Clerk’s Office also has a private Ceremony Room that can host individual wedding ceremonies performed by the County Clerk. The room seats 21 people with additional standing room available.
