Outdoor movie nights are back on the calendar in downtown Little Rock, and this time with a bird’s eye view.
The Rooftop Cinema series has officially set its summer lineup, bringing free movie screenings to the top floor of a local parking deck. This is the latest evolution of Movies in the Park, the series hosted by the Downtown Little Rock Partnership previously held at First Security Amphitheater and the Main Street Pocket Park.
This current iteration debuted in full force at Sixth and Scott streets in 2024, and this year it has another new location: the parking deck at 100 Center St. (across from the Old State House Museum), which will offer better access to indoor restrooms.
Each movie night comes complete with snacks and drinks available for purchase like local brews from Stone’s Throw Brewing, plus lots of room to spread out on blankets and chairs.
Here’s what’s coming to the big screen this summer:
- May 15 – “Waiting to Exhale” (held at (139 E. Sixth St.)
- May 30 – “Fast X”
- July 24 – “The Big Lebowski”
- Aug. 28 – “The Legend of Ochi”
- Sept. 25 – “Paddington in Peru”
- Oct. 20 – “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire”
The 2025 series includes a special focus on local partnerships. The screening of “Waiting to Exhale” will be hosted with the help of influencer Savouring Shaniya and feature themed cocktails from Rock Town Distillery and food from Yum Yum Halal. Likewise, the “Fast X” night will team up with MoparMania for their Friday Night Lights car show.
“Our Rooftop Cinema Series is all about creating memorable experiences in the heart of downtown Little Rock,” DLRP Executive Director Gabe Holmstrom says. “By teaming up with local organizations, we’re able to offer more than just a movie — we’re building community and celebrating what makes Little Rock special.”
