Chicken is one of the most popular foods for good reason. You can enjoy it fried, grilled, spicy—you name it. Turns out there are just as many ways to celebrate chicken, too.
A first-of-its-kind festival is coming to Birmingham, where you can try tons of chicken and more local food from all across The Magic City.
Furnace Chicken Festival is coming up on Sunday, June 1 at Sloss Furnaces National Historical Landmark. Keep reading for which local restaurants, food trucks and art vendors will be there, and how you can get your tickets now.
Know before you go: Furnace Chicken Festival
Brothers Ivory and William LeShore are bringing the inaugural Furnace Chicken Festival to Birmingham, complete with a historic location, local businesses and yes, lots of chicken.
At the first-ever Furnace Chicken Festival, you can expect:
- Food trucks + vendors from across Birmingham (keep reading for which businesses to expect!)
- Arts + crafts exhibitions
- Furnace “Best” Chicken contest: Come out + see who takes home the trophy
Eat chicken, shop local + support a Birmingham nonprofit

The best part? A portion of the proceeds from Furnace Chicken Festival ticket sales will go to Disability Rights & Resources.
This Birmingham nonprofit encourages and supports people with disabilities to reach their own independent living goals.
They do this through advocacy, peer support and services like:
- Independent living skills training
- Transition into the community
- Nursing home diversion
- Youth transition
- Work incentives planning + assistance
Get your tickets to the Furnace Chicken Festival and help further the mission of Disability Rights & Resources.
