“Star Wars” fans have a lot to look forward to in the coming weeks thanks to the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra as that galaxy far, far away comes right into our backyard.
As part of its highly popular film series, the ASO will perform the full soundtrack of “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi” live as the movie plays in its entirety on the big screen above them. Concerts include an intermission and will take place at the Robinson Center Oct. 17-19, having added a performance on Friday due to popular demand.

Ahead of the screening, the ASO recently announced it will host another event for fans who want to take a deeper dive into the film’s iconic sound. “Behind the Score: John Williams’ ‘Return of the Jedi’” will be held on Thursday, Aug. 21, at the ASO Stella Boyle Smith Music Center at 5:30 p.m. Guests will hear a free lecture led by ASO musician and librarian Geronimo Oyenard on the cultural impact of the legendary composer alongside live performances by a string quartet and clips from the movie.
Tickets to “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi in Concert” are available now. Learn more about both events on the ASO website, and follow along on Facebook and Instagram for updates.
