Death-metallers Gruesome show their ‘Human’ side at Conduit this weekend

As Tom Petty is to Gainesville, so Chuck Schuldiner is to Orlando — feel free to quote us repeatedly as to that point — and few bands pay proper tribute to the much-missed frontman and maniacal shredder of seminal metal act Death than Gruesome. The Floridian OG death metal revivalists are touring behind newest album Silent Echoes, a ferocious homage to Death’s note-perfect 1991 prog-DM masterpiece Human — up to and including the band’s logo and very familiar cover artwork. It’s even dedicated to the memory of Schuldiner and Death/Cynic drummer Sean Reinert.
