Mollie Puffer scored 18 of her 26 points in the first half, starting Sanford on its way to a 60-46 win over Thornton Academy in a Class A South girls basketball game Thursday night in Sanford.
Paige Sevigny added 15 points and Jaslinn Johnson finished with 13 for Sanford (7-1), which led 31-12 at halftime.
Brooke Bodnar paced Thornton (4-6) with 16 points, followed by Sienna Eldred, Lydia Lizotte and Maise McIntosh with eight apiece.
MARSHWOOD 51, FALMOUTH 31: Isabelle Tice scored 21 points and Natalie Lathrop added 16, leading the Hawks (6-2) past the Navigators (0-10) in South Berwick.
Gaby Herszkopf scored nine points for Falmouth.
SCARBOROUGH 41, MASSABESIC 30: The trio of Eva Alvarez, Helena Bukarac and Ella Herzberg combined for all but one of Scarborough’s points as the Red Storm (4-5) defeated the Mustangs (1-7) in Scarborough.
Alvarez led the way with 16 points, Bukarac scored 14 and Herzberg had 10.
Massabesic’s Alexa Roy and Elizabeth Donovan both scored eight points.
BIDDEFORD 61, DEERING 27: Gabby Silva scored 19 points as the Tigers (8-2) cruised to a win over the Rams (3-6) in Portland.
Natalie Silva added 13 points, while both Jordyn Crump and Mia Mariello scored 10.
Angelina Keo tossed in 12 points for Deering.
CHEVERUS 70, BONNY EAGLE 20: Kylie Lamson and Kristin King paced a balanced offense with 14 points apiece as the Stags (10-0) cruised past the Scots in Portland.
Marian Pitney added 12 points and six rebounds, and Anna Goodman chipped in with 11 points and nine rebounds. Goodman sank three 3-pointers.
Charlotte Beaulieu led Bonny Eagle with eight points.
GORHAM 54, NOBLE 13: The Rams (6-4) allowed only four points in the first half as they rolled to a win over the Knights (1-6) in Gorham.
Logan Doughty scored 10 points, Jazmyn King had nine, and Zoe Dellinger and Jacklyn Dunbar both finished with eight for the Rams, who led 29-4 at halftime.
Ashley Merchant scored five points for Noble.
