Bring your date to a snazzy Jazz Afternoon at the Botanical Center. Join the Max Claros Trio for an hour of familiar jazz standards and some seasonal tunes. Free with admission to the Botanical Center.

About Max Claros

Maximus Claros is a young drummer that has played jazz/funk all across Rhode Island. Claros performed on Lincoln Center Campus through the Jazz Arts Collective. He received a scholarship to play in NYC getting mentorship from many great musicians including Douglas Marriner, Kenny Washington, Charles McPherson, and Dion Parson. At 14 years old, Maximus was drumming in venues like Sons of Liberty, Chans, Bar and Board, and more. Now he’s bringing his trio to the Botanical Center to vibe with the plants, the people, and more.

Grace Darko is a Bronx native and Providence-based vocalist whose sound blends jazz, soul, and diasporic rhythm with storytelling at its core. Rooted in her Ghanaian and Togolese heritage, Grace embraces the spirit of Sankofa—honoring the past to build the future—as she reimagines standards and originals with warmth, clarity, and emotional resonance. With a voice that bridges tradition and innovation, she invites listeners into spaces that are as intimate as they are expansive—where every note carries purpose and possibility.
