Barry Manilow is working out every day. But his return to Westgate isn’t working out.
The hotel has informed ticket holders he has canceled his shows at International Theater on March 26-28 and April 2-4.
An e-mail from Westgate officials to those who purchased tickets to those shows reads, “Barry is working out every day and getting his wind back…but is just not quite there yet.”
The canceled dates are noted, “With sincere apologies,” with refunds offered at the original point of purchase, typically the case when Manilow cancels.
The 82-year-old superstar is still recovering from having a cancerous spot removed from his left lung in late December. His next shows at Westgate are now May 7-9, and May 14-16. His tour dates are to resume on April 13 at UBS Arena in New York.
Manilow’s most recent performances at Westgate were his Christmas shows, which closed Dec. 13.
On Feb. 4, Manilow announced he was spiking his Feb. 12-21 Vegas shows.
“The doctor said my body had been through hell and it needed time for healing,” Manilow said at the time. “So, I’m going back to healing.”
