Egg Works is closing one of its Las Vegas restaurant after almost 30 years

A beloved breakfast and lunch spot, a mainstay of morning in Las Vegas, is closing at the end of March after almost three decades.

Egg Works on South Rainbow Boulevard, which debuted 28 years ago, is shuttering after service on March 29. Brad Burdsall, owner of the Egg Works and Egg & I restaurants, announced the news in a late Thursday Instagram post.

“We’ve had the joy of starting your mornings with hot coffee and familiar favorites, and being your gathering place for early mornings, business lunches and long, lingering conversations. We’ve watched first-day-of-school breakfasts turn into graduation celebrations, and quick weekday lunches become treasured traditions,” the post reads.

“This decision did not come lightly. As I prepare to move out of state and begin a new chapter of semi-retirement, I do so with pride in what we built together — the warmth, the friendships, the sense of belonging — which means more to me than I can put into words. While I am looking forward to slowing down a bit, leaving this location and this community is truly bittersweet.”

The post indicates the remaining five Egg Works restaurants and the Egg & I location will remain open.

The expansive menu features eggs Benedict, traditional and blackened prime rib, specials like country fried steak and pork chops with eggs, more than a dozen omelettes, housemade corned beef hash, scrambles and skillets, crêpes, huevos rancheros, breakfast sandwiches and burritos, French toast, pancakes and waffles, Hawaiian-style dishes like loco moco and Spam and eggs, soups and salads, dishes made with Cincinnati-style chili, and sandwiches and burgers.
