Circus cabaret show ‘Jailbirds’ debuting at Henderson’s Cornerstone Park

Enter the world of a centuries-old Parisian prison sans the pesky bread-and-water diet with a new circus cabaret show set behind bars.

“Jailbirds,” which debuts April 7 to 9 at the Viva Fest Tent at Cornerstone Park (1600 Wigwam Parkway, Henderson), takes place at notorious French women’s penitentiary Saint Lazare, where aerialists, contortionists and acrobats bring a “raw, seductive, and slightly out of control” narrative to life.

Featured performers, er, “cellblock stars,” include Alexa “The Black Widow” (aerial lyrapole), Sapphira “The Charlatan Witch” (water contortion), Zenya “The Psychopath” (hair hanging) and numerous others.

Promising a blend of burlesque, aerial arts, live music, comedy, dance and immersive theater, the production aims to find a permanent home in Vegas after its upcoming three-show run.
