A second Egg Works, a Las Vegas breakfast and brunch institution, is closing after almost 30 years.
Egg Works on West Flamingo Road, which debuted 28 years ago, will shutter after service on Easter Sunday, April 5. Brad Burdsall, owner of the Egg Works and Egg & I restaurants, announced the news in a post on the Egg Works Instagram.
“I am deeply grateful to our incredible staff, past and present, who brought kindness, energy and care to every breakfast plate and lunch special,” the post says. “And to you, our guests, thank you for choosing us day to day, year after year … I hope you’ll stop in to enjoy one more meal with us — whether it’s your usual order or one last cup of coffee at your favorite table.”
Down to five restaurants
The announcement of the closing, at 9355 W. Flamingo Road, Suite 1, comes a week after the shuttering of the Egg Works on South Rainbow Boulevard, also after 28 years.
The Instagram post indicates the remaining four Egg Works restaurants and the Egg & I location will stay open as Burdsall is preparing to move out of state and into semiretirement.
The expansive Egg Works menu features eggs Benedict, specials like country fried steak, more than a dozen omelets, scrambles and skillets, crêpes, huevos rancheros, breakfast sandwiches and burritos, French toast, pancakes and waffles, Hawaiian-style dishes like loco moco, soups and salads, dishes made with Cincinnati-style chili, and sandwiches and burgers.
