Honolulu police today said they have arrested a suspect in connection with an alleged first-degree robbery that occurred last week in Haleiwa.
Police said at about 4:10 p.m. last Monday, the male suspect allegedly entered a store on Kamehameha Highway in Haleiwa, went behind the counter, and brandished a silver handgun while demanding money from an employee.
The suspect then removed a cash box and fled on foot, shoving another employee to the ground on the way out.
Police said through an investigation, the suspect was positively identified. Officers from the crime reduction unit located him and arrested him on suspicion of first-degree robbery.
The Department of the Prosecuting Attorney is seeking charges against the suspect.
