Barry Manilow opened the message with, “Good news!”
But not so good that he’s ready to groove to “Copacabana.” Not yet, anyway.
Manilow has pushed back his May shows at Westgate’s International Theater. His next dates on the books are July 9-11 and July 16-18. He said he will be ready for his June arena dates in the U.K.
Manilow, 82, had a cancerous spot removed from his left lung in late-December. He has not performed since. But the “Mandy” superstar offered some jocularity in his prognosis.
“I went to the doctor yesterday and he said I’m making great progress and look great,” Manilow posted in an Instagram story on Friday afternoon. “Well of course I do! Thank you very much!”
His training and exercising during recover from lung surgery in December is “paying off,” and added, “Westgate Las Vegas is my home away from home and I’ll see you all in July.”
