A 73-year-old scuba diver has died after being pulled unresponsive from a dive boat offshore of Kewalo Basin over the weekend, according to Honolulu police.
On Sunday morning, Honolulu Ocean Safety lifeguards responded to a call for a medical emergency for a woman who was scuba diving aboard a dive boat. Lifeguards met the boat offshore and initiated CPR as the boat made its way back to shore at the Kewalo Basin fuel dock.
Paramedics met the team at the dock and provided advanced life support as they took the woman to an emergency room in critical condition.
Police said the woman was pronounced dead at the hospital.
“There are no signs of foul play and nothing suspicious was observed at this time,” said the Honolulu Police in a bulletin. Police have classified the case as an unattended death.
No further information was available.
