Palms casino to host summer camp for grown-ups in July | Attractions

Think “Meatballs” with beer.

That’s the vibe at Camp Palms: No Kids Allowed, a new, adults-only summer camp pop-up bringing “booze, s’mores & bad decisions” to the Palms from July 1 to 31.

Inspired by all those Velveeta-cheesy summer camp flicks of decades past, the ’80s-leaning experience promises to transport visitors to “the least supervised place on Earth” with comedy, immersive entertainment, interactive characters, nostalgic music, themed food and cocktails.

Located on the casino floor near Scotch 80 Prime, Camp Palms will be set in a nostalgic wilderness playground where visitors — er, “campers” — can expect spontaneous competitions, talent contests, sing-alongs, campfire stories, performances and more among a cast of characters ranging from Camp Director Larry to Dumpster Dave the Raccoon, the flirtatious Nurse Candy to Squirrely Dan.

Word is, Bigfoot might even drop by.

Campfire favorites and nostalgic comfort food highlight the menu, from the Campfire Surf & Turf featuring wagyu chili and smoked trout dip to the “Wakey, Wakey, Bakey, Bakey” bacon and eggs to the requisite Camp Dawgs, all washed down with cocktails like Bigfoot’s Watermelon Smash and the Red, White & Boom!, which is topped with a Bomb Pop.

Camp Palms will be open Wednesdays to Sundays beginning at 5 p.m. with no cover.

Bring Sasquatch repellent.
