Steve Aoki showed on a 105-degree afternoon to play a concert while wearing a gold No. 77 Golden Knights jersey.
The superstar DJ pulled it off after two tracks. Too hot for that look. Aoki’s performance (not to mention the rising temperatures) made for a toasty pregame show ahead of Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final at T-Mobile Arena.
The Golden Knights’ party ended with a 3-0 defeat, with the Carolina Hurricanes claiming the Cup in six games.
Aoki did what he could to open the afternoon and evening of playoff hockey. The nightclub stalwart led the celeb scene on the Strip. Lisa Vanderpump made it to her first Golden Knights game, her first Vegas event after formally launching Vanderpump Hotel on Thursday.
Elsewhere, famous folks (or those nearly so) in the arena included Raiders owner Mark Davis; tireless event attendee and hip-hip legend Flavor Flav, who HAD to be the first celeb to post congratulations to the Knicks after winning the NBA title on Saturday; Mr. Las Vegas Wayne Newton; comic Jo Koy (who attended UNLV and now sells out stadiums); Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys; Canadian actor Simu Liu (“Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” and the upcoming “Avengers: Doomsday”); Encore Theater headlining comic Chris Tucker; Raiders tight end Brock Bowers; Marciano Brunette and Jessi Draper of “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” and Liam Blutman of Barstool Sports.
Aoki and Koy, and injured Golden Knights defenseman Alex Pietrangelo were among the siren-crankers at the Fortress.
