Zippy’s diner chain closing one of its 5 Las Vegas Valley restaurants

Zippy’s, the popular Hawaiian diner chain, has announced it will be closing one of its Las Vegas Valley locations.

In a Monday Instagram post, the company announced that it would be shuttering its restaurant at 4590 S. Hualapai Way after service on June 28.

“Our priority has always been to serve our customers and to take care of our people,” Jay Kaneshiro, Zippy’s chief operations officer, said in a Tuesday statement. “While closing a location is never easy, we remain committed to the Las Vegas community and are grateful for the support we’ve received here.”

The statement also said that the company continues to explore other Las Vegas-area locations, that it is searching for a tenant for the Hualapai store and that all Hualapai employees had accepted positions with other local Zippy’s.

Zippy’s took five years to open its first Las Vegas store, which launched in October 2023, then quickly expanded over the next 2½ years with four more stores in the valley.

The Hualapai store opened in March 2025, following the launch of the first Zippy’s in Las Vegas (and on the mainland) on Badura Avenue in the southwest valley. Store No. 3 debuted on South Eastern Avenue in Henderson in September 2025, with a fourth location opening in January on West Charleston Boulevard in Summerlin and the most recent shop launching in May on Camino El Norte in North Las Vegas.
