A 37-year-old man was arrested Thursday evening in connection with an alleged unprovoked stabbing that left a 42-year-old man seriously injured in Waikiki earlier this month, according to Honolulu police.
Police said the incident occurred at about 1:49 a.m. June 4 in the Waikiki area when the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim in the neck with an unknown instrument.
The victim suffered “substantial and serious bodily injury,” police said.
Following an investigation, detectives located the suspect and arrested him without incident at about 6:40 p.m. Thursday.
The suspect was being held in custody pending investigation as of 8 p.m. Thursday.
Police have classified the case as first-degree assault. No additional details were immediately available.
