Honolulu police opened an attempted murder investigation after a road rage incident led to gunfire in Kailua this afternoon.
According to police, an unknown man driving a white Ford van became involved in an altercation with a 25-year-old man and his 24-year-old female passenger in another vehicle at about 12:08 p.m.
The suspect displayed a handgun and fired a shot that struck the victims’ vehicle near Oneawa Street and Mokapu Boulevard, police said. Neither occupant was injured.
The Honolulu Police Department did not release further details about the incident and said the investigation is ongoing.
