Buddy Valastro, the ‘Cake Boss’ star, opens a speakeasy on the Las Vegas Strip.

Buddy Valastro, who came to fame as the star of TV’s “Cake Boss,” is hiding something in Las Vegas. He and his wife, Lisa, recently opened Dolce Notte (“sweet night”) speakeasy inside Buddy V’s Ristorante at The Venetian on the Strip.

“Honestly, I’ve always been intrigued by going to a speakeasy, like a secret door, hearing the stories, so we wanted to bring a little of that Old World vibe here to Las Vegas,” Buddy Valastro said in a Friday Instagram post.

Dolce Notte lies behind a door next to a Valastro family portrait. The speakeasy offers bites and cocktails — think house mozzarella with balsamic and peaches, lobster fritto misto with lemon aïoli, gougères stuffed with lox and cream cheese and crowned by caviar, tiered strawberry shortcake (like a wedding cake) served in wide-mouth coupes, and specialty cocktails like a twist on a Manhattan.

Buddy V’s opened in 2013, the first Vegas location for the baker and restaurateur. Valastro launched the restaurant in partnership with Elizabeth Blau and her husband, chef Kim Canteenwalla, of Honey Salt.

Today, besides Buddy V’s, the Valastro Vegas portfolio encompasses Carlo’s Bakery at The Venetian (recently reopened after renovations), Buddy V’s Pizzeria in Forum Food Hall at Caesars Palace, Pizza Cake at Harrah’s, and Buddy’s Jersey Eats and The Boss Café at The Linq.
