The Sports Bra, the pioneering Portland, Oregon, bar showing only women’s sports, announced its Las Vegas location Tuesday, about a year after word first emerged that the bar was expanding to Vegas and other cities.
The Sports Bra is building out a space at 4080 Paradise Road, at East Flamingo Road, with an opening planned for 2027.
“The moment I stood on that corner and watched the nonstop flow of cars driving by with locals, tourists, students, workers, and families, I felt it in my chest,” said Esther Taylor, owner of the Vegas franchise.
“This intersection is pure Las Vegas energy. You can see the Sphere glowing, you’re minutes from the Strip, and thousands of people pass by every single day. I knew instantly: This is where The Sports Bra belongs. This is where women’s sports deserve to be seen.”
Global games
The family-friendly bar and restaurant will showcase Las Vegas Aces and UNLV women’s basketball games, the upcoming Las Vegas USL Super League women’s soccer club, the newly announced professional women’s hockey team, international tournaments, and high school programs, club teams and youth leagues, the announcement said.
Chef Jose Lazo will lead the kitchen, sending out a menu that includes signature dishes from the original Sports Bra in Portland and vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and dairy-free options.
Jenny Nguyen, a former college basketball player and the founder-CEO of The Sports Bra, launched the bar in April 2022 with what was then a groundbreaking idea: that fans of women’s sports deserved a place to gather, watch, cheer, wear team colors and drink beer, something fans of men’s sports had always taken for granted.
