A new, locally owned guitar shop is opening this week on Mills Avenue.

Amp’d Guitar Den opens Wednesday, July 1, offering a curated selection of guitars, amps, pedals), repair services, books and even some vinyl (and apparently even coffee) to a neighborhood historically friendly to music and performance.

In the coming months, staff at Amp’d plan to roll out instructional programming of all types, from pedalboard building to fret care. As well as in-store sessions with local players.

Billing itself as “A little punk. A little grunge” on Instagram, Amp’d seems to be angling to become a community space for local musicians as well as a gear destination.

Amp’d Guitar Den is currently open Wednesday through Sunday.

The revised agreement limits how long the Orange County Jail is obligated to hold people for ICE while remaining compliant with state law.
