Honolulu police are investigating two separate robberies in the Ward and Ala Moana areas on Saturday night.
According to Honolulu police, a male suspect threatened a 28-year-old man with a handgun and took his property in the Ala Moana around 8 p.m. Saturday. The suspect fled before police arrived. No arrests were made.
An hour later in the Ward area, a 55-year-old man entered an undisclosed business establishment with a dangerous instrument and demanded money. Customers detained the man until police arrived. He was arrested for first-degree robbery. The suspect is in custody pending an investigation.
It was unclear whether the two robberies were related. No other details were immediately available.
