Sambalatte to close in west Las Vegas Valley after 16 years

A west Las Vegas Valley coffee institution will close its doors this month.

Sambalatte, which opened in the Boca Park shopping center 16 years ago, will close Aug. 27 after they were “unable to reach an agreement on renewing our lease,” according to an announcement to customers Monday.

“As we reflect on the past sixteen years, our hearts are filled with gratitude,” wrote Luiz Oliveira, the coffee shop’s founder. “What began as a dream became so much more than a coffee shop. Sambalatte became a place where friendships were formed, first dates became lifelong marriages, families grew, children graduated from high school and headed to college, business ideas were born, and countless conversations created lasting memories. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your lives. Your love and support have made these sixteen years truly extraordinary.”

The building will be vacated by the end of the month.

But this isn’t the end for Sambalatte, which had several valley locations at one point. The company says it is “actively searching for a beautiful new home.”

Sambalatte will host a farewell celebration ahead of the closing date, with details to come.
