Salad And Go, the chain known for its made-to-order salads, is closing all its remaining stores on Wednesday after it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Monday.
The chain, founded in 2013 in Gilbert, Arizona, has 70 drive-thru locations remaining: 63 in its home state and seven in the Las Vegas Valley, according to its website.
“This is a painful day for everyone who built, worked for and loved Salad And Go,” said Mike Tattersfield, the company CEO, in a Monday statement to Arizona media, which also reported that the company said it was “ultimately unable to overcome sustained pressure on consumer demand, past strategic growth challenges and rising costs.”
Salad And Go was not implicated in the cyclospora outbreak, linked to shredded iceberg lettuce, that caused intestinal infections in at least 18,000 people across the U.S. this summer, but the outbreak nevertheless “weakened confidence across the industry and compounded these challenges,” the company said.
Rapid decline
In May 2025, Salad And Go had more than 140 shops, according to QSR, a leading trade publications that covers fast food and fast-casual restaurants. Just a few months later, in September of that year, the chain announced it would close more than 40 stores across the country, followed by a January announcement that all remaining stores in Texas and Oklahoma would be shuttered, as reported by CBS News.
Salad And Go opened its first local shop in January 2023 in North Las Vegas, later expanding to shops in Centennial Hills, Silverado Ranch, the Southwest, in central Vegas and two in Spring Valley.
