The salad is going Dutch.
Salad And Go, the drive-thru salad chain that closed its final stores Wednesday after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, has asked the court to green-light the sale of most of its lease portfolio to a limited-liability company doing business as Dutch Bros, the national drive-thru chain selling coffee and other beverages.
An asset purchase agreement dated Tuesday sets out the terms of the proposed $105 million deal for the leases and certain assets of 47 Salad and Go stores in Arizona and four in Las Vegas, along with a nominal $50 purchase of an additional 14 leases in Texas and Oklahoma, according to the motion seeking approval of the sale filed Tuesday by the debtor.
The four Vegas stores included in the deal are on South Decatur Boulevard, South Fort Apache Road, South Durango Drive and East Silverado Ranch Boulevard. It is unclear from the filings reviewed why the stores on North El Capitan Way and Blue Diamond Road in Las Vegas and on East Craig Road in North Las Vegas were excluded, but the agreement does allow the purchaser to reject leases under certain circumstances.
Chain history
Salad and Go was founded in 2013 in Gilbert, Arizona. As recently as May 2025, the chain had more than 140 shops, according to QSR, a leading trade publication that covers fast-food and fast-casual restaurants. In September of that year, the chain announced it would close more than 40 stores across the country, followed by word in January that all remaining stores in Texas and Oklahoma would be shuttered, as reported by CBS News.
Salad and Go opened its first local shop in January 2023 in North Las Vegas, later expanding to Centennial Hills, Silverado Ranch, the southwest, central Vegas and Spring Valley.
Brothers Dane and Travis Boersma started Dutch Bros as a coffee cart in Grants Pass, Oregon, in 1992. Today, according to a court filing, the company is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange and has almost 1,200 drive-thru locations across 25 states, including Nevada.
