Amongst a Facebook feed of found dogs and cats, Boston Animal Care and Control posted Thursday regarding a found snake. A ball python, to be precise, according to officials.
The snake, known for now as “Tippy,” was reportedly found in a community food garden on Ellington Street in Dorchester just before 6 p.m. Thursday, according to a spokesperson for Boston Animal Care and Control.
The spokesperson said concerned residents and community garden staff observed an individual leave the snake in a cage near the raised garden beds and contacted Animal Care and Control through 311.
An Animal Care and Control officer responded and transported Tippy to the City’s animal care facility in Roslindale. He or she is currently in good condition and receiving appropriate care, according to the spokesperson.
