Rod Stewart is canceling his August dates on the Strip after a “routine coronary stent procedure,” according to a statement Tuesday.
Stewart has pulled all six of his upcoming dates, running Aug. 18 through Aug. 29, at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. He is also halting his tour performances.
From a Stewart rep:
“Following further medical evaluation, Sir Rod Stewart has successfully undergone a routine coronary stent procedure. Doctors are pleased with his recovery, and Rod is doing very well and has returned to his normal daily activities. On the advice of his doctors, he will take the next four weeks to recuperate and regain full fitness before returning to the stage. Unfortunately, this means he will be unable to continue his current tour dates.”
“I’m already feeling better and very much on the mend. I want to thank the doctors, nurses and everyone who has taken such wonderful care of me. I’m deeply disappointed to miss these shows and sorry to let my fans down, but I look forward to getting back on stage and having a good time with you all again soon.”
The 81-year-old rock legend has suffered several health issues recently. He experienced sinus and ear infections that forced a cancellation of his return shows at Caesars on May 29 and 30. He returned in high spirits on June 5, explaining to the crowd, “I’m nearly there, but when you’ve got your ears blocked up, it ruins your equilibrium. So I might stumble a bit tonight.”
Stewart also experienced dizziness at a show June 19 at Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre in West Valley City, Utah.
The “Maggie May” legend surpassed 200 Las Vegas shows in March 2025. He premiered at the Colosseum in 2011, in “The Hits” production. Aside from star comic Jerry Seinfeld, Stewart predates every current headliner at Caesars Palace.
